Rules & Guidelines

Format: Two dancers per team with a personalized team name. 45 seconds of dancing with a 10-second countdown. Music randomly selected from a pre-posted playlist.
Divisions: 12 & Under, 13 & Up. Divisions based on the average of both dancers' ages.
What's Allowed: Preset opening pose and theme are permitted. Contact, lifts, floor work, and utilizing the stage are all encouraged. Choreographed routines are NOT eligible.
Judging Criteria: Scored on a 1.00-5.00 point system.
Availability: Sidekick Improv is exclusively available at Nationals in Orlando.

FAQ

Can a dancer enter with more than one partner?: Yes — a dancer can have multiple Sidekick Improv entries, but each partnership must be unique. You can't enter twice with the same partner.
What do winners receive?: Division winners receive an exclusive Intrigue T-shirt.
Is Sidekick available at regional events?: No — Sidekick Improv is exclusively available at Nationals in Orlando.
