WORKSHOP LEVELS & FEES
The ages listed are just a guideline for teachers. A teacher may decide whether to place students by age or ability. If a teacher decides to place students by ability, it is at the teacher’s discretion only. Any level changes must be made within the first two classes of the workshop.

REGISTRATION
- “PHONE-IN” entries will not be accepted.
- Please write separate checks for competition entries and convention registration. Both checks must be submitted simultaneously.
- Discount rates apply to all registrations postmarked 30 days prior to the workshop date. If fees are not paid in full 30 days prior, discount rates will not be applied. See the tour dates listing for cut-off dates.
- All returned checks will be subject to a $25 fee.
- No refunds on workshop fees. No exceptions.
- Students attending more than one regional workshop will receive a 50% workshop fee discount in each additional city.
- Teachers attending more than one regional workshop with competing students may attend all additional cities free of charge.
- Regional Scholarships may be redeemed by attaching the scholarship certificate to the workshop registration form. Photocopies of the year-long scholarship are acceptable.
ONE DAY WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
One day students may register at any time. All one day participants are not eligible for showcase or scholarships.
CLASS LEVEL GUIDE
- Beginning -single chaine. single pirouette. pas de bourree. saute. jete. shuffles. and flaps.
- Intermediate -double pirouette. single-double chaine. pique turns. jete. assemble. double time step and riff walks.
- Advanced -triple pirouette. double chaine. fouette turns. axels. tour jete. second jumps, pull backs and traveling time steps.
TEACHER DISCOUNTS
- Bring 5-11 students: 1 teacher attends at1/2 off
- Bring 12-24 students: 1 teacher attends free
- Bring 25-39 students: 2 teachers attend free
- Bring 40-49 students: 2 teachers attend free + 1 free hotel room
- Bring 50+ students: 2 teachers attend free + 2 free hotel rooms
Note: When calculating the total number of free teachers, do not include scholarship recipients or observers.
TEACHERS
All registered teachers are allowed access to all workshop rooms.
OBSERVERS
Observers are allowed with paid students only and may not be teachers, studio owners or dancers. Observers are not allowed into the Teacher Room and may not participate in class or take notes, pictures or video at any time during the class. Observer bands can be purchased prior to or at the time of the event.
WRISTBANDS
ID wristbands must be worn at all times. You will be charged for a replacement wristband if damaged or removed.
CONFIRMATIONS
If registered by the 30-day deadline, participants will receive a confirmation via email detailing workshop participants, competition numbers and payment information.
SCHOLARSHIP BREAKDOWN
Convention, Year-Long Convention, 1/2 National and “True Performer” scholarships will be awarded in each city.
“True Performer” Winner(s)
“True Performer” scholarship(s) will be awarded to intermediate and/or advanced student(s) during each convention.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
- All dancers must attend BOTH days of classes to be awarded a scholarship. lf the faculty notices some dancers missing certain classes, those dancers will be penalized and their scholarship may be withdrawn.
- All scholarships must be used before the expiration date printed on the scholarship voucher. lntrigue’s Half-National Intensive workshop scholarships must be used at the next following National Intensive only.
- If you have previously won an Intrigue title (not runner-up) at the INTRIGUE NATIONAL INTENSIVE, you are not allowed to audition to be a “True Performer” again until you are in the next age division up.
- Scholarships are not transferable. No exceptions.
- “True Performer” runners-up may continue to audition in other cities to become a “True Performer” winner.
- Scholarship auditions are closed to Observers.
- Dancers ages 22+ are not eligible for scholarships.
SAFETY AND OTHER LIABILITIES
Video cameras and flash photography are not allowed in the workshop rooms at anytime. Intrigue Dance Intensive reserves the right to use any images taken during the convention for promotional purposes.
- Please report all accidents and injuries to an Intrigue Dance Intensive Manager immediately.
- Gymnastics will not be tolerated in class or in the halls of the Venue.
- Students under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a chaperone.
